A touching time for Space

Space Clinics will once again be involved on the international sporting field when the Touch World Cup comes to Edinburgh next month.

As proud sponsor of the national squad, we will be with the Scotland players every step and side-step of the tournament which takes place at Peffermill Sports Ground between 22 and 26 June.

Scotland will be represented by three open age group and four master’s teams who will face competition from 28 other countries including current world champions Australia. However, the home side has progressed significantly over the past five years and the men’s open team are the current European Champions.

National Squad Coaching Director, Robbie McKenzie, said: “Scotland have their best chance yet to achieve on the world touch stage. This has been the hardest selection process to date, the sport is growing rapidly at the grass roots level creating far more competition at the top end.”

Space Clinics have sponsored the Scotland national squad and organised medical cover since the European Touch Championships in Paris three years ago. Clinical Director Stephen Mutch said:

“After a gruelling winter training programme, with sessions often held in horrendously cold and windy conditions, it is always exciting when you reach the competition stage. We hope the Scotland teams are justly rewarded for their dedication and hard work, and wish them every success in their quest for medals.”

The Space Clinics-sponsored Scotland squad have 108 players competing throughout the 435-match tournament at Peffermill – why not come along and support your team too?
