Run and Become

Space Clinics knew all about Run and Become prior to opening our clinic in 2005 and have no hesitation in continuing to refer patients to them when called for.  Not 100 yards away on the opposite side of the road from Space Clinics Run and Become are a specialist running shop, who also have branches in London and Cardiff.  Our current podiatrists, Andy Paul, continues to offer valuable advice on feet and lower limb problems and work with the experienced Run and Become staff to offer advice on suitable footwear.  Both staff and customers from Run and Become have been treated at Space Clinics when needed and Space continues to refer our patients to Run and Become when they are ready to hit the road again.

Run and Become endeavour to stock everything a runner might need or wish for, in as much depth as possible.  They have a very mixed customer base, from new runners looking for guidance in choosing their first set of kit to long term runners who value a shop dedicated to their sport and runners from more niche areas of the sport—fell runners, sprinters e.t.c.—who know we will be able to supply them with the correct gear.

All their staff are carefully trained to fit customers out with the right footwear, give advice on anything from the best running watch to what you need to eat before a race, and most important of all, to listen to each individual and serve him/her to the best of their ability. They also have quite a high percentage of long term staff who have accumulated a lot of knowledge over the years. As to the running talents of our staff, we run the full gamut; we have Adrian in Edinburgh who is the proud owner of a GB vest, a very experienced and respected ultra runner, and then some very good, some moderate and some a little on the slow side runners, most of whom have done at least one marathon.

Over the last 20 years Run and Become have become an integral part of the running scene/community not only in Edinburgh and the East of Scotland, but also throughout Scotland. They have developed strong links with all the local running clubs and work in partnership with them on numerous events.  They are also a sponsorship partner with Scottish Athletics, the co-ordinating body for athletics in Scotland. They are involved with small grassroots club events, the larger city based Edinburgh Marathon, Edinburgh Half Marathon, Kilomathon and the Loch Ness Festival of Running and support Scotland's two longest single day endurance events, the Self Transcendence 100Km road race and the 95 mile West Highland Way Trail race.

Both staff and patients of Space Clinics continue to go to Run and Become for all our running needs.
