An Exciting Week

SPACE Physio Mairi Macphail headed to the Citylets Grange in Stockbridge to continue her excellent work with the Scotland Cricket squad this summer.  Scotland pulled off a magnificent win over Ireland on Tuesday with a sensational run chase to chase down a mammoth 320. Scotland then went on to play Sri Lanka but were unable to follow up on their memorable win over Ireland.

SPACE Director and Orhopaedic Consultant and Surgeon, Gordon Mackay, hit the national news this week with his pioneering new method of treating ligamentous injuries.  Using techniques learned in collaboration with the Steadman Clinic in Colorado, such injuries can be fixed internally using a form of tape inserted via keyhole surgical methods rather than the more traditional conservative treatment when patients have to endure a lengthy spell of immobilisation in a plaster cast.
